Rare plastic eating fungus discovered in the ocean

Researchers from the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) and other bodies have discovered a fungus capable of breaking down particles of polyethylene (PE), the most abundant of all plastic waste in the ocean.
