Mike Derrett started his career in the leisure boat industry in 1973 and worked in sales and project management for leisure, commercial and military boat manufacturers before starting his own marine consultancy business in 1989 specialising in market research and business planning with a focus on the Middle East and Asia. Mike has worked in over 40 countries and started as IBI Correspondent for the Middle East and Asia region in the late 1990s.

Bahar Öztürk became Turkish correspondent for IBI in 2010, following some years spent in the marketing team for a Turkish superyacht builder. Bahar's experience spans across sales, public relations, and corporate communication. In 2011, she authored a fiction book about sailing and maintains a blog focused on Turkey's boating culture. She spends her time between the two Turkish boatbuilding hubs of Istanbul and Antalya.

A former editor of Motor Boats Monthly magazine and a life-long boating enthusiast, Jake Kavanagh has spent 35 years as a full-time marine journalist. As IBI’s technical editor, Jake honed his skills as technical editor on several leading UK boating titles, including Practical Boat Owner, European Boat Builder, Sailing Today, The Marine Professional and Superyacht Business. He is also an author and illustrator, specialising in marine themes.

With a background as a daily news journalist, Lars-Åke Redéen has been IBI’s Scandinavian correspondent for 30 years as well as the long-standing the Editor-in-Chief of for Scandinavia’s biggest boating title, Batliv Magazine. An experienced boater he has built an impressive network throughout the marine business, especially in the Nordic countries.
As a boat owner himself, Lars-Åke tries to spend as much time as possible on the water with his Buster SuperMagnum speed boat or with one of his smaller sailing boats. He lives in Karlskrona, in the South-East corner of Sweden.

Kim Hollamby boasts an in-depth knowledge across a number of boating markets and business disciplines. As former editor of Motor Boats Monthly, a role he held for 11 years, he was later named Group Editor for IBI and publisher for Yachting and Boating World (ybw.com).
He has worked for member organisations, distributors, boat dealers and equipment retailers and today Kim reports on the UK and European markets and serves as the non-voting secretary for the METSTRADE DAME Design Awards and IBI METSTRADE Boat Builder Awards.
