Navtec has named rigging expert Robbie Sargent as superyacht product manager, a new position in the company.

Starting in late June in the Havant office, UK, he will be responsible for the rigging of yachts ranging upwards of 200ft (61m).

Prior to his appointment Sargent was technical director of Ocean Yacht Systems in Dorset, UK, for nine years. His experience also includes nine years at Riggarna Rigging, and project management on many of the world's largest sailing yachts.

Peter Arentzen, general manager of Navtec, commented: "Navtec is quickly becoming the rod rigging and hydraulic supplier of choice for the expanding superyacht market. Robbie will help service this demanding market, plus expand its use of custom-tailored PBO sling rigging systems."

Navtec, headquartered in Connecticut, US, supplies rigging and hydraulic systems for 2007 America's Cup yachts, typical cruising yachts and a variety of applications in between.
