Palm Beach County, Florida, has joined its neighbour to the south, Miami-Dade County, in closing marinas and boat ramps to all but commercial fishing operations. But Broward County, which sits between the two and is home to Ft. Lauderdale – the hub of South Florida’s US$12bn yachting and boating industry – has no such restrictions.  Nearly half of Florida’s 1,200 reported Coronavirus cases thus far are in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Most Florida marine businesses – which represents over US$23bn of the state’s economy – seem to be operational but not without some confusion….
